Review of the Avengers

The Avengers
I recently went to see the movie – The Avengers. The conflict and camaraderie between the characters moved the story along – the quips of Robert Downey Jr.’s Ironman, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Chris Evan’s Captain America. Together, they have to learn to fight or perish by the evil forces created by Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. Even if you had not seen each of the hero’s stories, you can still follow the storyline.
This is a fast action paced movie, but there is still a character arc, especially with Downey’s Ironman who has to learn work as a team player rather than a Lone Ranger. He develops a definite working relationship with Ruffalo’s Hulk and draws him out of his shell. Downey’s Ironman pokes and fuels the conflicts among the characters, but without his smart quips the movie would have dragged.
There are bits of romantic tips between Hemsworth’s Thor and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster who does not make an appearance in The Avengers, but is only mentioned as being in protective custody to ensure Thor’s cooperation. However, the movie does show a hint of a romance between Downey’s Ironman and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts, which is enough to offer an intrigue.
Of course, this movie ends on a note to guarantee a sequel. Since I had not seen the other movies, I left, went to Target and bought both Thor and Captain America. What did I think of those? That will be in another review.
If you want to see a movie which is action pact and has quips between characters, then this is a thumps up movie.
